Charles E. Lentz, 81, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Thursday morning, September 8, 2016 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born May 8, 1935 in Frazeysburg he was a son of the late Francis A. and Esther Mae (Ewan) Lentz and was a 1953 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. Mr. Lentz retired from Alltel Communications with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Frazeysburg United Methodist Church and was very active in all church activities. Charles loved working with his hands. He was accomplished at wood carving and he enjoyed carpentry and other building projects. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. His keen sense of humor was an enjoyment to all.
Surviving is his loving wife of 60 years, Darlene R. (Ramsey) Lentz whom he married June 3, 1956; a son, David (Jeanne) Lentz of Frazeysburg; three daughters, Dianna (Nathan Croston, Sr.) Lentz of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Deborah (Kevin) Addy of Lynchburg, Virginia and Darla (Rick) Wollard of Newark, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, William (Mary Ann) Lentz of Frazeysburg and James (Phyllis) Lentz of Rhinelander, Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 1pm to 3pm Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Frazeysburg United Methodist Church, 87 West Second Street.
Funeral services will be at 3:15pm Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Frazeysburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Robert Mesnard officiating.
