Charles Robert ""Bob"" Hughes, Sr., 79 of Columbus, formerly of Zanesville died Thursday April 6, 2006 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Mr. Hughes was born August 10, 1926 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Dewey and Pauline (Jackson) Hughes. He had worked for Kaiser Aluminum in Newark for 30 years. He was a member of Peace United Methodist Church, Amity Masonic Lodge F&AM, Scottish Rite, Shrine, and Grotto. In addition he was also member of the VFW, Old Trail Hunting Club, and had been a member of the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department. He loved to hunt and enjoyed watching NASCAR and Ohio State. Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Margaret ?Peg? Hughes; daughters, Brenda (John) Gregg of Zanesville, Pam Hughes (Jeff) of Zanesville, JoAnn Patterson of Columbus; a son, Charles R. ?Bob? Hughes, Jr. of Zanesville (Rochelle); grandchildren, Charles R. ?Bobby? (Maryann) Hughes, III. Of Norwich, Shawn (Melissa) Gregg of Zanesvile, Heather (Andrew) Markie of California, Lisa (Tim) Farber of Columbus, Randy Patterson (Jaci) of Cleveland; 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Adamsville Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 8005 East Street, Adamsville. A Masonic Service will be at 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday April 10, 2006 at the funeral home with Pastor John Gerrard, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. There will be a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. Sunday April 23, 2006 at Peace United Methodist Church, 2169 Ferris Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43224.
