A Celebration of Life service for Charles E. Foucht, 94 of Heath will be held Tuesday May 31, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Katrick officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

A visitation will be observed on Monday May 30, 2022 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark.

Charles was born on December 19, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan to Warren and Lilon Foucht.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Jean (Huber) Foucht; daughter, Sharon; grandson, Michael; niece, Holly Brown; both parents and sister, Mary Bousma.

He is survived by his son, Stephen (Jean) Foucht of La Grange, NC; grandson, Craig (Nikki) Foucht; great-grandchildren, Michael, Margo, and Matthew; brothers, Willard Foucht, Millard (Clara) Foucht; several nieces and nephews.

Charles grew up on a farm in Thornville, Ohio. He was a graduate of Thornville H.S in 1945. After graduation he joined the Navy, was a WWII veteran and Aircraft Radar Instructor. After the Navy he became employed by Daugherty TV as an in-home television technician.

He always enjoyed helping others. In the winter you could see him going around plowing snow from the driveway of neighbors, you could also find him enjoying Buckeye football and basketball.

Charles was a longtime member of St. John's United Church of Christ. He portrayed a Scribe in the early years of the Bethlehem Market Place production.

He would like to thank his neighbors Craig and Phyliss Hindman and George and Annie Croom.

The Family would like to thank Arlington Care Center of Newark and especially the staff on Unit 4 and Bella Care Hospice for their excellent care of Charles in his final days on earth.
