Charles BodleJuly 22, 1919 - February 18, 2004 NEWARK ? Funeral services for Charles Bodle, 84, Newark, Ohio, will be Saturday, February 21, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in the Newark chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark, with Minister Cory Campbell and Pastor Bryan Dahlke officiating. Burial will be in Fallsburg Cemetery. Mr. Bodle, beloved father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at his residence. Born July 22, 1919 in Fallsbury Township of Licking County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles and Edith (Crawford) Bodle and was a 1938 graduate of Perry Pike High School in West Carlisle. He lived his entire life in Fallsbury Township, was proud to call, Ohio, Licking County, and Fallsburg his home. He served as Fallsbury Township trustee, and a school board member of Fallsbury and Eden townships. Mr. Bodle was also a former board member of Licking County Farm Bureau. He was a lifetime farmer and also worked for 52 years as a custom sheep shearer and worked in the building trades as well. He was a member and past chairman of the Licking County Sheep Committee and was given the first Licking County Master Shepherd Award. He served as a delegate and wool buyer for Midstates Wool Growers and other companies. He was awarded lifetime membership in Ohio Sheep Improvement Association and charter member of the Agrology Club which later became Professional Agrarians. Charles was a life long member of Rocky Fork Church of Christ and past trustee of the church. Surviving are his devoted wife of 16 years Twila (Mizer - Morningstar) Bodle, whom he married February 13, 1988; two sons Thomas (Beth) Bodle of Newark and David (Sharon) Bodle of Wooster, Ohio; a brother William (Lillian) Bodle of Santa Fe, New Mexico; three sisters Harriet Miller and Charlotte (Everett) Smith, both of Newark and Edith Moore of Lancaster, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bodle and Glenna (Harper) Lambert; five grandchildren Diana Montgomery, Alicia Bodle, Kara Bodle, all of Newark, Christopher (Heather) Bodle of Howard, Ohio and Eric Bodle of Wooster; step-grandchildren Lisa Dupler of Columbus, and Jill Dupler of Newark; great grandchildren MacKenzie and Zachary O'Flaherty, Alexyss Bodle, Megan, Cameron and Ethan Montgomery of Newark and Bryce Bodle of Howard; step children Esther (Andy) Panyik, Lester (Jennifer) Morningstar, Leon Morningstar, Ellen (Bob) Colopy, Larry (Sue) Morningstar, Leslie (Tamela) Morningstar, Evelyn (Bob) Smith, Eva (Mark) Ledbetter, Lee Morningstar, Lynn (Jill) Morningstar, and Eileen (Troy) Hill. Twenty-seven step grandchildren, two step great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Esther (Glover) Bodle, whom he married April 25, 1943 and who died March 19, 1986; two brothers Robert and Clarence (Ted) Bodle and a sister Betty Ritchey.
