Charlene J. McKee, 79, of Newark, Ohio died Monday morning, April 18, 2022 at her home.

Born July 13, 1942 in Buchanan County, Virginia she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Matney) Keene and was a graduate of Garden Creek High School.  Charlene was the head Deli Clerk at the Heath Big Bear Store, retiring in 1998 with 25 years of service.  She attended Crossroads Church and she enjoyed cooking.

Charlene was the youngest child in her family and was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Surviving is her loving husband of 58 years, Lowell McKee, whom she married February 22, 1964; a son Lowell Kevin McKee of Newark; a daughter, Regina (Greg) Gayheart of Newark; three granddaughters, Nina Gayheart, Kayla McKee and Kaitlyn (Brandon) Gambell and two great grandchildren, Parker and Ava Gambell.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

There will be no public calling hours or funeral service.
