A funeral service for Chad Allen ?Pete? McMullen, 29 of Newark will be held Wednesday December 26, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Osborne officiating. Chad died Thursday December 20, 2007 at his residence. He was born October 17, 1978 in Newark Ohio.Chad was employed by Rew Materials. He attended Newark High School and the Licking County Joint Vocational School. Chad is survived by his mother and step-father, Merri Ann and Bruce Byers of Newark; wife, Jamie L. (Swonger) McMullen; three sons, Jeffrey Allen McMullen, Blake Allen McMullen, Trenton Allen McMullen; sister, Abbie L. McMullen of Newark; half-sisters, Tracy (Keith) Harris, Lori (Charles) Ankrom all of Newark; half-brother, David (Sandra) Watts of Atlanta, GA.; step-brothers, Tony Byers, Bruce (Roberta) Byers, Curtis Byers all of Newark; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles A. McMullen and paternal grandparents, Roy (Dick) and Betty McMullen. Chad attended the Vineyard of Licking County Church and was a member of the Newark Druids. Chad was very much a family man and enjoyed spending time with his sons. He was an avid sports fan and played baseball from T-Ball through varsity teams. He introduced his sons to baseball and never missed watching them play. He also enjoyed NASCAR and was a fan of OSU football. Chad had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. Calling hours will be observed Wednesday one hour prior to services at the funeral home, 1850 West Main Street. Druids service will be held Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. The family requests memorial contributions to the Licking County Sports Association C/o Newark Kiwanis P.O. Box 101 Newark, Ohio 43058-0101. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
