Catherine M. Nethers, 83, formerly of Hanover, Ohio, died Monday morning, January 4, 2010 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville, Ohio.
Born July 22, 1926 in Reform, Ohio in Licking County she was the daughter of the late Alva Wright and Grace Mills Mitchell and was a 1944 graduate of Hanover High School. Mrs. Nethers was a member of the Hanover Presbyterian Church and for many years she was a member of the Hanover Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She also worked on the Hanover Village Election Board for many years and was a former employee of Western Products and McKnightâ??s Feed Store.
Surviving is one daughter, Jolene R. Nethers of Frazeysburg; a grandson, T. J. Cozzens of Frazeysburg; a great grandson, Christopher Cozzens of Frazeysburg; a niece, Cindy Fuller of Richwood, Ohio; a half-brother, Richard (Andrea) Wright of Newark, Ohio; several other nieces and nephews and a very dear and special friend, Mary Simpson of Hanover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph G. Nethers, whom she married August 23, 1952 and who died June 25, 2002; a sister Mildred Fuller and her step-father, Ralph A. Mitchell.
There will be no calling hours.
Private family funeral services will be conducted and burial will be in Hanover Cemetery.
The family was assisted by the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home.
