Catherine E. Headley, 87, of Dresden, died at 1:20AM Thursday July 17, 2008 at Willow Haven Nursing Home in Zanesville. Mrs. Headley was born March 30, 1921 in Cumberland, a daughter of the late John C. and Margaret Ellen (Degarmo) McDonald. She had worked for many years and retired from the obstetrical department at Bethesda Hospital. Mrs. Headley was a member of the Dresden U. Methodist Church and the Mormon Church and was active in Chapter #260 Order of the Eastern Star in Dresden. Surviving are her children, Emma (Tom) Barton of St. Louis, MO, Edna (Fred) Deeds of Dresden, Johnna (Earl) Starner of Zanesville, Evelyn (Dean) Prince of Dresden, a step-daughter, Delores (Eugene) Carder of New Concord; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Erwin McDonald of Zanesville; two sisters, Louisa Howard of Macksburg, Leah (Gene) Couts of Akron; son-in-law Larry Longaberger of Newark; sister-in-law Alice McDonald of Zanesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Headley; a daughter, Dorothy Longaberger; a grandson, Earl Everett Starner, II; a brother, John McDonald and a step son, Donald James Headley. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8PM Sunday July 20, 2008 at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home in Dresden, where services will be held Monday at 1PM with Pastor Max Williams officiating.
