Graveside funeral services for Carol A. Smith 79 of Newark will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday January 19, 2021 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 675 Cedar Street, Newark with David Linn officiating.

Mrs. Smith passed away Wednesday January 13, 2021 at Laurels of Heath. She was born July 29, 1941 in Bellefontaine, Oh to Herbert E. and Margaret M. (Sturm) Fryling.

She was a member of the Heath Church of Christ, American Legion Auxiliary and the Silver Club at Zerger Hall. She had served as a past-president of the Washington Square
Senior Group. She enjoyed volunteering at the Hospice of Central Ohio and Licking Memorial Hospital. Carol was a very outgoing and helpful person.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Earl V. Smith in 1978, and many family members and friends.

She is survived by her friends, Shirley Curtis and Faith Baker of Newark.

She wished to express "special love to all my relatives and friends. Thank you for being there. God Bless each and everyone".
