DRESDEN ? Carleston J. Wood, 88, of 38 West Sixth Street, Dresden, Ohio, died at 2:25pm Saturday, February 16, 2003 at his residence. Born June 27, 1914 in Lyons, Ohio, he was the son of the late Carl L. and Edna (Day) Wood and was a graduate of Lyons High School at attended Bowling Green University. Mr. Wood was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired in 1975 as a machinist with Columbus and Southern Electric of Conesville. He was a member of the Trinway United Methodist Church, Dresden American Legion, Dresden Lodge #103, F. & A. M., and he was a Boy Scout Leader with Troop #120 for many years. Surviving is his wife, Grace A. (Schumacher) Wood, whom he married May 29, 1946; two sons, Jerry Wood of Dresden, and Mark (Jane) Wood of Galion, Ohio; three daughters, Marcia (Chuck) Mason of Columbus, Ohio, Jacalyn Wood of North Ridgeville, Ohio, and Sally (Ralph) Fusner of Dresden; one sister, Lela Mae Marlatt of Pinellas Park, Florida; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, two brothers, Robert Wood and George Wood, preceded him in death. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street, Dresden, Ohio. Funeral services will be 11:00am Weds., February 19, 2003 at the funeral home with Pastors Mike and Melody Foster officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
