FRAZEYSBURG ? Carl F. Shoemaker, 82, of Fallsburg, Ohio died at 11:30pm Thursday, June 5, 2003 at his residence. Born June 15, 1920 in Homer, Ohio, he was the son of the late Fred and Neoma (Snyder) Shoemaker Ramsey and was a member of the Rocky Fork Church of Christ. Mr. Shoemaker was the owner of Shoemaker Drilling and co-owner of C & I. Restaurant of Fallsburg. He enjoyed raising show rabbits and square dancing. Surviving is one son, Gerald Shoemaker of Fallsburg; one daughter, Ila Jean (Gene) Cooper of Zanesville, Ohio; three grandchildren, Mike (Jodie) Wheeler of Newark, Ohio, Greg (Gina) Wheeler of Fallsburg and Bill (Tammy) Shoemaker of Campbellsville, Kentucky; seven great grandchildren, Michael, McKenzie, Neeley and Damon Wheeler and Hannah, Rachel and Jacob Shoemaker; two brothers, Raymond (Shirley) Shoemaker of Bladensburg, Ohio and Stanley Shoemaker of Utica, Ohio; a half-brother, Donald (Shelia) Ramsey of Kendallville, Indiana; brothers and sisters inlaw, Alice (Paul) Redman of Heath, Ohio, Dorothy (John) Richards of Newcastle, Ohio, Earl (Leona) Booth of Mansfield, Ohio and Harold (Donna) Booth of Fallsburg; two step children, Beth (Jeff) Bryant and Troy Frew; two step grandchildren, Kelsie and Morgan Bryant; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. (Booth) Shoemaker, whom he married August 26, 1970 and who died April 8, 2002; and a half brother, Gene Ramsey. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 pm Sunday, June 8, 2003 at Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 Third Street, Frazeysburg. Funeral services will be 10:30am Monday, June 9, 2003 at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Myers officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
