Carl F. Huston, 81, of Dresden, Ohio died Sunday afternoon, November 4, 2018 at his home.
Born May 26, 1937 in Roseville, Ohio he was a son of the late Leonard B. and Hazel (McClain) Huston and was a graduate of Roseville High School. Carl was a retired millwright, working through the Millwright and Pile Drivers Union 1090 of Akron. He attended Meadowview Church of Christ in Frazeysburg. He enjoyed working, gardening, camping and traveling, especially to his favorite place, Yellowstone National Park. One of his greatest enjoyments was his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving is his "soul mate" of 33 years, Jane (King) Nelson; one son, Douglas (Melinda) Huston of Dresden; one daughter, Julie Huston Ellis of Puyallup, Washington; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Trisha, Nicole, Mack, Janelle and Clara and four great grandsons, Slade, Skye, Stone and Liam. Also surviving is a son in-law, Chuck Ferrell of Canal Fulton, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Nelson Ferrell; two brothers, Leonard and Dwight Huston and a sister, Velma Huston.
Calling hours will be from 2pm to 4pm Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 4:00pm Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn officiating.
