A funeral service for Bryce H. Williams, 87, of Trinway, will be held on Wednesday January 28, 2004 at 11AM at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. Rev. Carl Schaefer will officiate; burial will follow in Prospect Church Cemetery. Mr. Williams died Sunday morning at his home. A life long area resident, he was born January 31, 1916 in Madison Township, a son of the late Rollyn and Mary (Sarbaugh) Williams. A long time area businessman, he founded The Williams Landscaping & Excavating Co. in Trinway in the early 1960?s and later expanded the business to include asphalt paving with his sons, Gary and Tom. He was a devoted member of the Prospect U. Methodist Church and active in the community as a former Boy and Cub Scout leader for Troop #121 in Dresden, a member of the Greater Zanesville Community Choir, the Ohio Nurseryman?s Assoc. and was featured as Citizen of the Week in the Dresden Post Transcript. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Maxine (Gray) Williams, whom he married December 24, 1938; his children, Gary (Nancy) Williams of Frazeysburg, Marilyn King of Dresden, Tom (Diane) Williams of Trinway, Anita (Bob) Rector of Frazeysburg, Debbie (Jim) Angelo of Trinway, 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, three sisters, Audrey (Earl) Harris of S. Zanesville, Carol Rugh of Trinway, Clarice (Arthur) Adams of Trinway and many, many friends. A grandson, Trent King preceded in him in death. Friends may call 4-8PM Tuesday at the funeral home in Dresden.
