A funeral service for Brenda Mae Pursley, 61 of Heath will be held Friday, March 14, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Minister Brandon Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Brenda passed away on Tuesday morning March 11, 2025 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born October 7, 1963 in Newark to the late William C. and Beatrice M. (Spurrier) Pursley.
She had been employed as receptionist at several locations, including the Buckeye Valley Family YMCA, Licking Memorial Hospital and Shackelford Disposal Service. She had been active member of St. John's United Church of Christ. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, Hope and Pray, and Glory Road Singers. She enjoyed crafts, especially ceramics and painting. She volunteered at the Licking County Humane Society. Her favorite past times included attending grandchildren's activities, and going to the beach.
She is survived by her children, Ryan (Oksana) Hardway of Mt. Vernon, Megan (Josh Clark) Pursley, Kelsie (Chris) Best all of Heath; grandchildren, Elijah, Annalyse, Adalyn, Falon, Brycen, Gabrielle, Korbyn, Delaney; sister, Mari (Tim) Dailey of Heath; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Jeffory (Andra) Pursley; grandson, Garrett Crase; nephews, Brandon Pursley and Steven Pursley.
Visitation will be observed Thursday evening from 5 pm to 7 pm and Friday from 9 am to 10 am at the Vensil & Chute Funeral Home at 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
