Obituary

Brenda J. Dobson, 69, of Newark, Ohio died peacefully Friday afternoon, February 16, 2018 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Her loving family was at her side.

Born November 19, 1948 in Newark she was a daughter of the late Frank and Edith (Acord) Moran and was a 1966 graduate of Riverview High School.

Brenda was very much an "outdoors" person. She loved fishing and took great pride in maintaining and caring for her fish pond. She enjoyed camping, gardening and feeding and watching the birds. She loved living from the land, canning her own fruits and vegetables and helping with the butchering. One of Brenda's several nicknames was "video queen" because she made a video of each day's events to keep as a treasure for her family. Her greatest passion was, of course, her family. She also enjoyed college basketball and would watch several games at the same time. During tournaments she would host big parties with all her family and friends invited. She was known as "coach B".

Surviving is her loving husband of 51 years, Steven C. Dobson whom she married November 11, 1966; one son and daughter in-law, Todd and Misty Dobson of Brownsville, Ohio; one daughter and son in-law, Toni and Rob Nethers of Reform, Ohio; two grandchildren, Brittany (Seth) Carson and Brice Nethers and one great granddaughter, Kezlee Carson and a great grandson on the way. Also surviving are five brothers, Linton (Sally) Moran, Ronald (Linda) Moran, Leroy Moran and Allen (Chris) Moran, all of Frazeysburg and Gerald (Judy) Moran of Cooperdale, Ohio; one sister, Wilda "Sis" (Walt "Sonny") Sarchet of Frazeysburg and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be 4pm to 8pm Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
