A memorial service for Braedon Paul Michael Pollmann, 23 of Newark will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2024 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Pamela Combs officiating. Visitation will be observed from noon until service time on Saturday.
Braedon passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Nationwide Children's Hospital. He was born July 25, 2001 to Bernd and Jill (Brady) Pollmann.
Braedon was kind, thoughtful and courageous. He attended Hillview Elementary School, Heritage Middle School and was a graduate of Newark High School and Project Search. He was employed as a culinary assistant at Licking Memorial Hospital.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Caley, Carah, and Cambria; grandparents, Paul and Ute Pollmann of Rochester, NY, William Brady of West Palm Beach, FL and Sharon Brady of Buffalo, NY; aunt, Doris (Bob) Jennings of Interlaken, NY; uncles, Tim Brady of Baltimore MD and Steve Brady of Buffalo, NY; Godfather, Michael Angemeer of Toronto, Ontario and Godmother, Patricia Heberlein of Allentown, PA; Great Aunts, Ingrid Angemeer of Brampton, Ontario, Helga (Kurt) Schubert of Frankfurt Germany; Great uncle Robert (Sharon) Ernst of Canal Fulton OH and many cousins.
Braedon had an adventurist spirit and loved to travel. Despite the many challenges and obstacles he faced, he experienced some amazing adventures including paragliding in Austria, bison hunting in Idaho, fishing in Maine, skiing in Colorado, adaptive surfing and zip lining in Costa Rica, visiting his Marvel and DC Comics heroes at Disney World and Universal, going on many motorcycle and bicycle rides with his father and eating the best sushi in Iceland. Braedon enjoyed relaxing in the surf on the beaches of Sanibel Island and Panama City beach on annual spring and fall trips. Earlier this year Braedon and his family cruised across the Atlantic stopping in Portugal and Spain. Some of his favorite activities included going to area farmers markets, garage sales and thrifting on Saturdays. There was always a lightsaber or nerf gun that needed to be discovered. Braedon enjoyed many summers making friends at the YMCA summer camp and enjoyed outdoor experiences being a camper at Flying Horse Farms. He was also active in Special Olympics and LCBDD PAWS club.
