Obituary

Bonnie A. Whyde Owens, 63, of Nashport, formerly of Dresden, died at 9:09AM Friday May 6, 2011 at Morrison House Hospice in Zanesville.

She was born August 6, 1947 in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Marion R. and Helen (Snack) Prouty, Sr. A member of the Newark Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, she enjoyed the ministry, performing volunteer work, watching football and listening to country music.

Surviving are her husband, Kelly Owens whom she married in 2009; a son, Robert W. (Paula) Whyde of Dresden; a grandson, Brandon Whyde; her brothers and sister, Vernon (Dorothy) Prouty of Nashport, Victor (Linda) Prouty of Dresden, Max (Joyce) Prouty of Baltimore, Loren (Loretta) Prouty of Nashport, Marion "Junior" Prouty of Dresden, Shirley (Francis) Holzschuher of Dresden, Larry Prouty of Dresden; step-daughter, Virginia (Mathew) Croak, step-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Trevor and Brady Croak all of Newark and several cousins and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Whyde, Jr.

Friends may call 11AM-1PM Monday May 9, 2011 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held at 1PM with Mr. Ty Odutoye officiating. Burial will follow in the Dresden Cemetery.
