Obituary

Billie Sue Krichbaum, 88, of Newark, Ohio died Wednesday morning, May 18, 2022 at her home.

Born November 4, 1933 in Newark, she was a daughter of the late Paul E. and Serena M. (Davidson) Melton and was a 1951 graduate of Newark High School.  Over the years Billie had many jobs, including Melton's Dairy Bar, Ohio Power Company and William S. Moore, Inc.  From 1967 to 1981 she worked at Licking Valley High School and from 1981 to 1992 she was secretary to the superintendent at Tri-Valley High School, from which she retired.  Billie also loved working on the farm with her husband and taking care of the animals.  She was most fond of horses and had several of them over the years.  She was a member of Licking Valley Church of Christ and a former member of the Newark Riding Club, Ohio Horsemen's Council and the Arabian/Half Arabian Association.  Billie also loved and enjoyed the many proud times of watching her kids participating in sports.  It was her greatest and most wonderful times.

Surviving are her children, Dennis (Katie) Martin of Newark, Michael (Dianna) Martin of Brownsburg, Indiana, Hobie (Maggie French) Martin of Perryton, Ohio and Beth Martin of Newark; her grandchildren, Andrew Martin, Damon Martin, Joel Martin, Courtney Phillips, Angie Chikowski, Amy Culver, Kyle Bonner, Rider Bunnell and Tucker Bunnell; and her great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Nicholas, Alex, Jakob, Madi, Delilah, Brock, Bryson and Dakota June.  Also surviving is her very special friends, Coach Randy Baughman and his wife, Kathy and many other great friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, John M. Krichbaum, whom she married December 21, 1977 and who died September 8, 2003 and a son, Steven Martin, who died August 13, 2010.

Calling hours will be from NOON to 2pm Monday, May 23, 2022 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Monday, May 23, 2002 at the funeral home.  Billie will be laid to rest beside her husband, John, in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
