A funeral service for Betty L. Hutchison, 74 of Newark will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Smith officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.

Betty died Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Chapel Grove Inn, Heath. She was born January 5, 1938 in Hanover to the late George and Ila (Morgan) O'Flaherty. A 1955 graduate of Hanover-Toboso High School, Betty worked for many years as a secretary at Newark High School. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and the Newark Lions Club wives. She was a staunch supporter of the Newark High School Athletic Booster Club, Quarterback Club and Rebounders Club.

Survivors include her daughter, Cindy (Ed) Collins of Chillicothe; a son, John D. (Lori) Hutchison of Newark; grandchildren, Shannon (Ryan) Montell of New Albany, Shelby (Josh) Conley of Newark; a great-grandson to be; a sister, Janice (Rich) Gameringer of Chester, WV; brothers, Jim (Eleanor) O'Flaherty of Heath and John (Darlene) O'Flaherty of Frazeysburg.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. "Dave" Hutchison, April 18, 2004; and a nephew Michael O'Flaherty.

Friends and family may call from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark
