A memorial service for Betty R. Grigsby, 69 of Neweark will be held Thursday March 9, 2006 at 7 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Robert L. Knox officiating.Mrs. Grigsby died Saturday March 4, 2006 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born December 14, 1936 in Coshocton, Ohio to the late Ray S. Newell, Sr. and Bessie I. (Johnson) Walker of Newark.Mrs. Grigsby was a former cashier at the Super Duper on Main Street. She also was a bus driver for the Licking County Aging Program. She was a 1954 graduate of Newark High School. She was a member of the Newark Eagles Auxiliary # 387 and a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bingo and traveling to Wheeling.Survivors include her mother; her husband of 52 years, Arthur B. Grigsby, Sr., whom she married December 19, 1953; son, Arthur B. Grigsby, Jr. and Nikki Kinney of Newark; daughter, Bettina L. George and fianc? Fred Allen of Newark; brothers, Ray (Harriett) Newell, Jr. of Mt. Vernon, Jeff Newell of Columbus, Roy Walker, Jr. of Newark, David Walker of Newark; sister Debra (Jay) Arnn, Sr. of Columbus; five grandchildren, Arthur B. Grigsby, III, Kaelynne R. Grigsby, Brent A. Grigsby, Marisa R. Grigsby, Mark D. George, Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Dakota Grigsby, Aden Banks; several nieces and nephews.In addition to her father a son Mark Allen Grigsby and sister Bonnie Walker preceded her in death.
