Obituary

Funeral services for Bessie I. Lindamood, 85, of Newark will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday at the Spring Hills Baptist Church, Granville, with Delbert McKenzie and Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery. Mrs. Lindamood died Monday evening September 20, 2004. She was born September 21, 1918 in Glen Falls, West Virginia to Airius B. and Selestie Johnson Wilson. She lived in New Lexington for 48 years and was a member of the New Lexington Church of Christ for 53 years. She loved gardening, puzzles, reading The Bible, her grandchildren and enjoyed people.She is survived by her daughter, Celeste L. and Bill Stevenson, of Granville; and two grandchildren, Reese P. and Maggie C. Stevenson; 19 nieces and nephews; and a large number of great and great great nieces and nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harry L. Lindamood, whom she married August 7, 1951 and who died in 1988; five brothers, Forrest Wilson, Edison ?Ted? Wilson, Albert Wilson, Leon ?Farmer? Wilson, Warren ?Buddy? Wilson, and Oliver Wilson; three sisters, Susie Gains, Dorothy Barnes, and Nellie Cochran; a niece Winona Wilson; two nephews, Billy and Daniel Wilson; and a great niece Cassandra Ryan. Friends may call from 6-9PM Wednesday September 22, 2004 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main St., Newark, and one hour prior to the funeral service, from 11:30 ?12:30PM on Thursday at the church, 1820 Newark-Granville Rd., Granville. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 1984-A Coffman Road, Newark.
