Obituary
Bertha J. Paynter, 102, of Mt. Perry, formerly of Dresden and Trinway, died peacefully Wednesday night, December 1, 2010 at her home.
Mrs. Paynter was born July 21, 1908 in Conesville, a daughter of the late Ellsworth and Mary Elizabeth (Steed) Keith. She was Baptist by faith and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Dresden. Always a hard worker, she loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her faithful dog, Sammy.
Surviving are her children, Kenneth (Joanne) Paynter of Zanesville, Mary Maxwell, Shirley Paynter, William C. (Teresa) Paynter, all of Mt. Perry; 26 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. Paynter; two sons, Leonard L. and Robert R. Paynter; five grandchildren, four sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8PM Sunday December 5, 2010 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, where services will be held on Monday at 1PM with Pastor Andrew Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in the Dresden Cemetery.
