A memorial service for Bernard "Bernie" F. Arrington, 90 of Heath will be held Sunday April 28, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Pound officiating. Inurnment will be Monday April 29, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Mr. Arrington passed away Wednesday April 17, 2024 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born January 12, 1934 in Bladensburg to Ira L. and Rose (Hall) Arrington. He was a graduate of Bladensburg High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed for over 43 years retiring in 1997 at Continental Can as a press operator. He was also a member of United Steel Workers Local Union.

Bernie was an avid fan of the Buckeyes, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Reds. He enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, listening to country music and his daily exercise routine.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary E. (Gosnell) Arrington; son, Derrick Foster and Kristi of Heath; two grandchildren, Logan, Christina; two nieces, Robyn (Neal) Adams, Barbara (Charlie) Bolen all of Newark ; several great nieces, nephews, great-great nieces, nephews; sisters-in-law, Donna Gosnell, Sylvia Gosnell, Irene Ferroni, Kay (Skip) McArtor; canine companion, Bella.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Therin Arrington; father and mother-in-law, George & Helen (Brady) Gosnell.

A visitation will be observed from noon until 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday April 28, 2024. The family requests family and friends to wear OSU, Cincinnati Reds and Steelers attire.
