Obituary

Bernice L. Lane, 93, formerly of Adamsville, Ohio died Friday morning, December 12, 2014 at Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville, Ohio.
Born September 5, 1921 in Adamsville she was a daughter of the late Charles Washington and Myrta Viola (Jones) King. Mrs. Lane was a homemaker and helped her late husband in their farming operation. She attended Fairview Methodist Church for many years. Bernice was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed doing crafts.
Surviving are four daughters, Shirley (Darrell) Woods of Nashport, Ohio, Bonnie (Stephen) Butler of Chandlersville, Ohio, Virginia (Edward) Ardelian of Adamsville and Vickie Cooper of El Paso, Texas; ten grandchildren, Holly Dillin, Polly Woods, Dolly Herschel, Joseph Butler, Laura Vaughn, Diana Lang, Alan Ardelian, Amy Ross, Tammy Farrow and Stacey Cooper; twenty-three great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Dale Lane whom she married in 1937 and who died in 1983; four brothers, Charles, Arthur, Gerald and Harold King and seven sisters, Ethel Hogue, Edith Brunk, Esther Hogue, Carrie King, Hazel Wisecarver, Alice Wortman and Luella Rice.
Calling hours will be 2pm to 4pm Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, Adamsville.
