Obituary

FRAZEYSBURG ? Benjamin A. Simpson, 88, formerly of Dresden, Ohio, died at 6:36am Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at the Adams Lane Care Center, Zanesville, Ohio. Born November 12, 1917 in Ozark, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Lettie M. (Ireland) Simpson. Mr. Simpson was a retired self-employed timberman and logger. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Surviving is his wife, Clara (Thomas) Simpson, whom he married June 26, 1970; four daughters, Faye Meredith of Hensley, Arkansas, Janice (Romaine) Hutchinson and Nora Burge, both of Coshocton, and Joyce (Jess) James of Hartsville, Tennessee; seven step-daughters, Sharon Thornton of Frazeysburg, Phyllis (Kenneth) Redman of Perryton, Patsy Grimes of Newark, Rebecca (Michael) Foster of Adams Mills, Paula (Douglas) Bates of Zanesville, Sherry Landaker of Conesville, and Peggy Moran of Dresden; one step-son, William Moran of Coshocton; 20 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 21 step grandchildren; 22 step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Boyd and Charles Simpson; two brothers, Frank and Lloyd Simpson; and a sister, Edith Simpson. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Thursday, January 5, 2006 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, January 6, 2006 at the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
