Barry G. Cannon, 77, of Newark, Ohio died Monday, January 15, 2024 at his home.

Born February 15, 1946 in Leonardville, near Frazeysburg, Ohio, he was a son of the late Robert J. Cannon, Sr. and Dale L. (Kirkpatrick) Cannon.  Barry worked for many years at Owens-Corning Fiberglass in Newark where he retired in 1995.  He was a member of Eagles Aerie 387 of Newark and the Y-City Hilltoppers of Zanesville.  Barry enjoyed getting up early and going to breakfast with his friends at The Big Apple Café in Newark.  He also enjoyed tinkering in the barn and garage and going to garage sales.

Surviving are two brothers, George Cannon and Rudy Cannon, both of Newark; and two sisters, Kathi Cannon and Rebecca Cannon both of Newark.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Cannon, Jr. and a sister, Sherry Mautz.

Calling hours will be 11am to 1pm Friday, January 19, 2024 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, January 19, 2024 at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn officiating.  Barry will be laid to rest in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
