FRAZEYSBURG ? Barbara L. Sharp Kanavel, 72, of Hebron, Ohio died at 6:09pm Tuesday, June 7, 2005 in the emergency room of Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark, Ohio. Born August 10, 1932 in Uhrichsville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Addie (McFadden) Sharp and was a 1950 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. She was a retired weight loss counselor with the Jenny Craig Weight Loss Center and she had formerly been employed as a dietician at Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio. Mrs. Kanavel enjoyed gardening and working crossword puzzles and she will be remembered as a loving mother who truly enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are four sons, Wallace (Sheila) Kanavel and Rolland (Lynn) Kanavel, both of Granville, Ohio, Mark Kanavel of Denver, Colorado and Tim Kanavel of Tucson, Arizona; one daughter, Linda Sue (Steve) Robison of Dresden, Ohio; two brothers, John (Becky) Sharp of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Lou (Lacy Willows) Sharp of Silverton, Idaho; two sisters, Dody (Harry) Williamson of Newark and Phyliss Mugford of Mt. Clemens, Michigan; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Wallace Kanavel, whom she married August 18, 1952 and who died July 26, 1979; one brother, Philip Sharp; one sister, Evelyn Domer; and her step-father, Pete Albaugh. Calling hours will be 11:00am to 1:00pm Saturday, June 11, 2005 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street, Frazeysburg. A family time of remembrance will be observed following the calling hours, after which will be a caring cremation. Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
