A funeral service for Barbara A. Bevard, 92 of Heath will be held Saturday September 9, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Neal Skiles officiating. Visitation will be observed one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Bevard passed away at home on Monday evening September 4, 2023. She was born August 2, 1931 in Newark to John G. and Edna A. (Crosby) Wooles.

Barbara retired from Newark Trust Company in 1976 as the comptroller. She was a 1949 graduate of Newark High School. She was a member of the Heath Christian Union Church and formerly Cox United Methodist Church. She enjoyed singing, having been associated with the Sweet Adelines, church choirs and several quartets. Activities included golfing, bowling, swimming and a member of the Red Hats Society. She was a talented seamstress and also knitted and crocheted.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen D. Duckett of Newark, Patricia Sue Martin of Heath, Anne Elizabeth Gilbert of Newark; son, Michael Dean (Robin) Bevard of Heath; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Anita L. Wooles of Newark; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of 66 years, Earl D. Bevard; brother, John C. Wooles and son-in-law, George Duckett.
