Arthur E. Younkins, 79 of Pickerington, formerly of Dresden, died at 5:40PM Tuesday December 28, 2004 at Mt. Carmel East Medical Center following a stroke suffered December 23, 2004. Mr. Younkins was born February 22, 1925 in Martin Ferry, a son of the late Edgar and Katherine (Hughes) Younkins. He was a retired gas transmission line inspector for the State of Ohio and had worked at Essex Wire in Lancaster and Battelle. A member of Dresden Lodge #103 F.&A.M. and American Legion Post #399 in Dresden, Mr. Younkins served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Surviving are his daughter and son in law, Kim and Troy Casner of Reynoldsburg; five grandchildren, Ryan Kelly, Teresa Kelly, Caitlin Casner, Brenna Casner and Haleigh Casner; one great grandson, Aidan Bond; and a brother Elmer (Lucy) Younkins of Zanesville. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Betty Jean Younkins on October 7, 2004.
