No funeral services will be held for Arthur Smith, Jr., 81 of Newark per his request. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens.Mr. Smith died Thursday December 25, 2008 at the Newark Healthcare Centre. He was born August 2, 1927 in Millfield, Ohio to the late Arthur and Clary (Peyatt) Smith.Mr. Smith had served in the U.S. Navy and was a machinist.Survivors include his son, Gary (Tina) Smith of Newark; grandchildren, Stacie Smith, Corey Smith; great-grandchildren, Stacia, Tyrus, Griffin and good friend Mark.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Central Region Office-LCKG, 870 Michigan Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43215
