Arnold R. Dingess, 86, of Zanesville, Ohio, formerly of Dresden, Ohio died Monday morning, December 30, 2019 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.

Born May 31, 1933 in Obetz, Ohio he was a son of the late Lindsey and Thelma (Hardbarger) Dingess and was a 1951 graduate of Salt Creek High School in Pickaway County, Ohio.  Following high school Arnold proudly served our county in the United States Army during the Korean War.  Arnold was retired from American Electric Power with over 38 years of service, 28 of which were at the Conesville Plant.  He was a member of the Trinway United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 29 of Zanesville.  He enjoyed music, especially playing the organ, old cars and his pet dogs.

Surviving is his loving wife of 55 years, Marian (Lacy) Dingess, whom he married September 5, 1964; a son, Demetrius (Fantasia) Trescott of Chandlersville; two grandsons, Elijah Green and Reese Trescott; several nieces and nephews and his close friends, Kevin and Tina Webbeler of Zanesville.

Calling hours will be 2pm to 4pm Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, January 6, 2020 at the funeral home with Pastor Sharon Williamson officiating.  Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
