A funeral service for Ann A. Hottinger, 82 of Newark will be held Tuesday June 15, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Cordle officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Hottinger, a registered nurse for 36 years, died Saturday June 12, 2004 at her residence. She was born September 16, 1921 in Derwent, Ohio to the late Otho and Iva (Shook) Hively. Ann was thirteen months old when her mother died and six years old when her father died. She was raised by her aunt and uncle Merl & Charles Saltz. Ann graduated in 1943 from the Akron General Hospital School of Nursing. She retired from Licking Memorial Hospital, Surgery Dept. in 1979 with 15 years of service. She was a former Public Health Nurse for the Coshocton Co. Health Dept.Ann was a member of Cox United Methodist Church the United Methodist Women and the Wednesday morning Bible Study at the church.Ann is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard W. Hottinger, whom she married Feb. 14, 1956; son Scott D. (Cindy) Hottinger of Newark; sister, Mary Morrow of Heath; brother, David Saltz of Lakeland, Florida; nephews, David R. (JoRita) Morrow of Heath, Richard D. (Sue) Morrow of Heath and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents one brother is deceased.Calling hours will be observed, Monday June 14, 2004, 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street, Newark.Memorial contributions may be made to the Cox United Methodist Church Memorial Fund 50 S. 30th Street Newark, Ohio.
