A funeral service for Andrew J. ?Drew? Scott, 46 of Newark will be held Saturday April 17, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 383 Washington Street with Rev. Dr. Charles W. Noble officiating. Burial will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mr. Scott a former Licking County deputy sheriff died Sunday April 11, 2004 at Mt. Carmel East Medical Center. He was born June 4, 1957 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Preston Scott, Sr. of Newark and the late Catherine (Hunter) Scott. In addition to his father, Mr. Scott is survived by his wife Martha (Harden) Scott, whom he married August 20, 1988; step-daughters, Cheryl (Jeff) Matthews, Cassandra Jamar both of Heath; brothers, Preston (Debbie) Scott, Jr., Larry C. Scott, Keith M. (Tina) Scott, John L. Scott all of Newark; sister, Louise L. (Richard) Countryman of Columbus; sister-in-law, Nancy Jackson of Media, Pa.; 1st cousin, Charles (Keron) Weems of Media, Pa.; five step grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Scott had also worked with handicap challenged individuals in a group home. He was a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, a member of the Raymond Wise Singers, a former member of the Mighty Few Motorcycle Club. He was a 1975 graduate of Newark High School and a member of the Wrestling Team. He also loved fishing. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his mother and a brother Melvin D. Jackson. Calling hours will be observed Friday April 16, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home 1850 West Main Street.
