Funeral services for Alyce L. Croom, 63 of Westerville will be held Friday September 21, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 383 Washington Street with the Rev. Dr. Charles W. Noble officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Alyce died Friday September 14, 2007 at St. Ann?s Hospital, Westerville, Ohio. She was born October 18, 1943 in Newark, Ohio. Alyce retired from the Newark Social Security office and as a 10th grade English teacher in New York City school system. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, a tutor for Par-Excellence and a star maid in New York City. She is survived by her mother, Luegene Harris of Newark; husband of 47 years Quincy Bowers; children, Anthony Q. (Yolanda) Bowers of Westerville, Jerryse A. (Leonard) Cozart of Cleveland, Lorri M. Bowers of Atlanta, GA., Justice R. Cutler of Newark; brother, George H. (Annie) Croom, Jr. of Heath; sister, Alfreda Harris of Newark; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; other family includes Reginald L. Cutler of Brooklyn, N.Y. and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her father, George H. Croom, Sr.; step-father, Alfred J. Harris and step-mother, Betty O. Croom Calling hours will be observed Friday one hour before the services from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church 383 Washington Street.
