Alma E. Cochran, 95, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Saturday morning, May 23, 2015 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio in Newark, Ohio.
Born October 25, 1919 in Dresden, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Andrew J. and Martha E. (Erwin) Stanford and was a 1938 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. Alma was a secretary at The Ohio Plastics Company in Frazeysburg for 50 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Meadow View Church of Christ and the 50 Club of Frazeysburg. For many years she was a local Notary as well as being a poll worker for many years. She was an avid card player and was a member of various card clubs over the years.
Surviving is one son, Steve (Teri) Cochran of Hebron; one daughter, Carol Cochran Ross of Frazeysburg; seven grandchildren, Troy (Dawn) Cochran, Mike Hassell, Craig (Jeanette Blair) Ross, Ashley Ross, Jaime Ross, Adam (Chrissy) Price and Jonathan (Sarah) Covert and ten great grandchildren. Also surviving is her niece, Mona Miller of Frazeysburg and several great nephews, Dennis (Marsha) Miller, Daryl Miller and Bob (Debbie) Miller.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul L. Cochran, whom she married October 25, 1946 and who died November 10, 1995, a sister Edith Sines; a brother Robert Stanford and a great nephew, Tom Miller.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the funeral home with Minister Tyler Watson officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
