A funeral service for Alice V. Hughes, 73 of Heath, will be 10:00AM Saturday at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Harnish officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Hughes died Wednesday morning, August 24, 2005 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born June 25, 1932 in Clarksburg, WV. to the late Paul E. and Anna Mae (Buffington) Huber. She was a member of the Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority, Christ United Methodist Church, and was active in the Hopewell Commons Community. Mrs. Hughes is survived by her sister, Jean (Charles) Foucht of Heath; a nephew, Stephen (Jeanne) Foucht of LaGrange, NC; two great-nephews, Craig (Nikki) Foucht of LaGrange, NC, Michael Foucht of Wilmington, NC; her pet, and special friend Molly; and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph ?Clay? Hughes, whom she married January 28, 1955, and who died December 23, 1984; a sister, Evelyn L. Myers; and a niece, Sharon K. Foucht Alvarez. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8PM Friday at the funeral home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
