A funeral service for Alfred M. ?Bob? Evans, 77 of Newark, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday July 23, 2005 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Imhoff officiating. Burial will follow in Hanover Cemetery. Mr. Evans died Wednesday at Licking Memorial Hospital after a long hard battle with Parkinson?s disease and dementia. Mr. Evans was born August 15, 1927 in Pedro, Ohio to the late Martin Luther and Alma (Grubb) Evans. Mr. Evans retired from Rockwell International in 1982 and had worked for Pinkerton Security for 11 years. He was a member of UAW Local 1037 , and attended Faith United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening and camping. Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Elsie M. (Moore) Evans, whom he married December 25, 1954; his children, Kevin Evans, Gloria K. ?Kathy? Evans, Dwight E. Evans, Candis A. Evans, David A. (Robin) Evans and April D. Evans, all of Newark; sisters Freda Miller of Clark, Ohio, Rose (Bob) Lewis of Hamilton, Ohio and Joyce (Bill) Duff of Zanesville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Avery and Abagail; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Scott Evans; two sisters and three brothers. Friends may call from 6-9PM Friday evening at the funeral home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark, Ohio.
