Alan Dale Kirkbride, 64, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Nashport, Ohio entered Heaven's gate Saturday morning, November 30, 2013 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus after a lengthy illness.
Born September 1, 1949 in Zanesville, Ohio he was a son of the late William and Laura (Bates) Kirkbride and was a 1967 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. Mr. Kirkbride attended Ohio University and he was a former employee of WoolCo Department Store and the Excello Wine Company, both of Columbus and of Hart's Family Center of Zanesville. He was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying Cincinnati Red's baseball and Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved animals of all kind and enjoyed walking in Blendon Woods with his friends. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Caldwell, Ohio.
Surviving is one brother and sister in-law, Russell and Eleanor Kirkbride of Bellefontaine, Ohio and one sister and brother in-law, Kathy and Terry King of Nashport and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 11am to 1pm Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
