NEWARK: A. David Jenkins, 73 of Newark passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at his home. He was born December 15, 1936 in Canton to the late David E. Jenkins and Eileen (Wiles) Jenkins Potter of Arizona.
Mr. Jenkins faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the Newark Air Force Base. He also worked as a Patrolman for the Ohio State Highway Patrol in the 1960â??s.
Mr. Jenkins was a life member of the National Rifle Association and the American Motorcycle Association; he was a member of the American Legion and A.B.A.T.E of Ohio.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Christopher Jenkins of South Korea; a daughter, Elizabeth Ossa of Newark; grandchildren, Emilie Ossa and Jacob Paston; a brother, Lance (Sharron) Jenkins of Mansfield; sisters, Lynn (George) May and Paula Schwendeman, both of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Matthew Tweddle officiating.
